One of the hardest parts of genealogy when you research your old
dutch ancestors is learning the dutch written word. Although I can
read and understand many words and phrases (but I have very little idea
of how to pronounce them), I have found using an internet based translator
as an excellent tool. This link will translate words or phrases from
Dutch to English, as well as many other languages:
http://www.tranexp.com/win/dict/index0.htm
http://www.tranexp.com:2000/InterTran
It also allows you to point at pages on the world wide web and have
them translated. Be careful that the page you point to exists as
a true HTML document and is not being served up to you as an active server
page (ASP) or some other server side program.
